Farm Share CSA

What is The Farm Share Program?

Taproot’s Farm Share program connects low-income members of the community with local farms through weekly CSA* box pickups, helping to build food sovereignty and improve food access in the North Country. The program is currently open to those eligible for SNAP benefits.

*CSA (Community-Supported Agriculture) refers to a membership program where participants purchase shares of a farm’s produce, typically involving weekly pickups at the farm or a central location. Participants of Taproot’s Farm Share program pick up their boxes each week at Taproot Marketplace.

What Can you expect in a Farm Share box?

Base Box: Each week’s selection will look a bit different depending on what’s currently in season, but the base box will generally include a mix of root vegetables (like carrots, beets, radishes and potatoes), leafy greens (like baby salad greens, lettuce heads, kale and bok choy) and fruit vegetables (like cucumbers, tomatoes, zucchini and winter squash). Early season shares will be heavier on greens and roots and late season shares will include more fruit vegetables and storage crops (like winter squash, potatoes and onions).
